The blanket is made of 100% polyester and needs to be placed on your mattress before you go to sleep. Turn the blanket on just before you go to sleep to make sure you can enjoy a warm bed. If you turn the blanket off the heat will linger so you can go to sleep warm and relaxed. The three heat settings allow you to set the right temperature so you will never have to go to sleep with ice cold feet anymore.Machine washable
